Hip to be Square: It’s inexplicable…
Please, please, PLEASE will somebody explain this phenomenon. Quite honestly, I can’t. I’m reaping the benefits, but have no idea why. My question is this:
Why the hell do chicks dig geeks all of a sudden?
Okay, I’ll admit it. I watched the OC while it was still on. [Ed:Yeah... me too] Two reasons: Hot chicks and Seth Cohen. Seth Cohen, we are not worthy. The guy is the reason chicks dig geeks. Allow me to explain:
Chicks watched the OC -> Seth Cohen is portrayed as sensitive, geeky guy -> Chicks like the guys off the OC -> Wearing a Green Lantern shirt might just get you laid*

Recently, this crazy idea exploded with Superbad. (more…)
It’s Not Called Wagging, It’s Called Repioritisational Time Shifting
Wagging is of similar meaning as skipping school, if the term is unfamiliar.
Sometimes, you sit in class and you get nothing done, and you sit there thinking you probably should have gone to the library, the toilet or something, and you probably would have gotten something done then. Then you get tired of not getting anything done and/or tired of the boredom of class and/or the lack of productivity during class and wag school. Well, now I have someone to quote should I try to explain my wagging. (Yeah, wagging class because you don’t get anything done is a bit paradoxical)
Here’s a few quotes from a blog:
Why do we assume that time = productivity instead of talking about the kind of results the person is actually getting?
Isn’t it funny that we rush to work everyday and then spend the first hour at our desk reading the paper and drinking coffee?
Isn’t it funny that if you’re done with your work for the day at
four, you can’t just leave? Why do you have to stay that extra hour and
pretend to be busy?
The quotes are from a blog called “The Four Hour Work Week“, those who pay attention to the New York Times bestseller’s lists (more…)
School Assembly: Stop Wasting My Time
I normally don’t rant this often, you know.
I think one of the greatest waste of time I have experience in high school, is the ritualistic mental boredom that is school assembly. Every week I have this crap, I can rage against the teachers, but detentions are pretty boring too. I’ve seen some people who bring DS’s and PSP’s to assembly and try to play it where the teachers can’t see you, usually doesn’t work. Unless you happen to be lying on the floor or sitting at the isles, which… doesn’t happen that often.
The speakers at the assembly are usually kinda boring, old men recalling ye ol’ days and/or charitable organizations telling us that “who really needs a second kidney?”. The teachers could atleast get speakers with which the students can relate to, sometimes there’s a few past students, but most of the times we just get different variations of the creepy guy that talks to you in the beginning of half-life 2.

iTunes Auto-Tagging is Like Eating Glass, Screw You Apple
Anyone who has a large music collection, has a lot of music with tags, wrong tags, or a lack of tags tries to fix that. So what do you do? You try to find the right tags for the music on the internet, right?

iTunes makes this a massive pain in the ass. As in, fucking yourself up the ass with a spiked pike painful.
There’s no option to get iTunes to auto-tag your music, well actually I don’t know, but you definitely need an iTunes account to get the album art working (more…)
Possibly Related Posts, WordPress Censorship

[Update] A further email response was sent by Mullenweg to me:
My email was private and not meant for publication, thanks.
Also, negative comments are not censored, read the thread for plenty of negative feedback. Yours, however, seemed like it needed a response and it was so far down the thread and I didn’t get to moderating it for a day or two that you probably wouldn’t have seen it, hence my email. But suggesting that there are only positive comments on the wp.com blog is demonstrably false.
As for spam,

Finally, related links always point to the same blog/author first, and to the exclusion of anything else *if there’s enough related content on the same blog*.
Here was my response:
I Feel Enlightened…
But not in a good way, WordPress.com has a feature on the dashboard that shows you what terms people used on search engines to get to your blog, most of them were pretty obvious and makes sense. Here’s a few examples.
telnet star wars ipv6
what superheroes are in shield
famous xbox live account names
another-superhero dragonfly
plasma shield
june 9th iphone release
buy iphone,projected and laptops online
iron man
Then you get stuff that are a little unexpected:
incidence dream future
drake bell’s crotch (2 views from this actually)
As a side note, we now know that Remotehog knows how to use Google, and often Google his own articles.
But then, you get some crazy stuff like this:
how to ask ur girlfriend to lick ur ass
wtfwtfwtfwtf?! what the fuck?!
As I quote undeadknight:
I don’t know what’s more disturbing, that there’s some dude out there who wants his girlfriend to lick his ass, that he expected to find information on the internet that will help him in getting his girlfriend to lick his ass, or that when people googled for stuff like that our blog showed up in the results.
WordPress.com Censorship?
Edit: Yeah, it’s censorship for sure. My comment’s been deleted, I can say for sure there wasn’t any insults and flaming in the comment.

WordPress readers will probably have heard about the issue surrounding the “related links” feature that wordpress.com and inserted into every blog unless you specifically opt-out of it.
If you want to learn about the issue and hear the opinions of a few prominent bloggers in the WordPress.com community, here’s a few links:

Twitterholic: Leo > Obama?
Yeah, I’m slow to the scene, I have laggy internet.

I came across twitter as I was listening to a few podcasts and checked it out. It seems to be a Microblogging service, with plenty of tech web 2.0 celebrities using it’s services.
It’s pretty cool that Obama is on it, even cooler that Leo Laporte of the TWiT network is 100 short of Obama’s followers(at the time of writing), consider how Obama is a likely presidential candidate, hmm I wonder if he will keep twittering if he does get elected as the new president. stats
Hey, I think I can model Obama’s increase of followers. Linear equations for the proverbial win.
If projection construction data range is from the 1st of may to 6th of may the equations for Obama is: (more…)
Dreaming the Future
There has never been a definite scientific reason for the formation of the dreams we have. In recent times scientists have come to conclusion to believe it a reflection memories, fears, hopes, and desires. Then there are the physiological explanations that it is just a combination of random firing neurons in the brain. Somehow these random firings in most people can create a whole image or sequence with a variety of senses utilized to combine into dreams. Nearly all people cannot fully control their dreams or fully remember it. We are so restricted in dealing with our dreams yet they seem to show images which really affect our lives symbolically or figuratively.
The images and messages they portray though is not very clear to most people. Some people have tried to provide services to interpret dreams by making a subjective message even more subjective. The type of dreams also varies distantly. Some which have significant personal meanings, to those where you wonder about you’re sanity. Then there are dreams which seem to be have been tampered with a higher power or the supernatural. Messages like repeating memorable dreams, bizarre but symbolic and the perception of the future may have occurred to some people. The reason for the formation of all these dreams is still unknown and left to randomosity.
